early summer dinner on the deck

With family visiting, cooking is high on the list of favorite activities.  Tonight we celebrated the end of a sunny day with fresh crab salad

and chicken, roasted on the grill.

The day turned out to be sunny and warm.  K and I tried to go here:

but sadly, they were closed.  So we went here

instead.  And had wonderful, fresh juices.  We’ll go back to the kitchen store next week.

The day started out a little cloudy but it’s turned into another incredible, clear, warm day.  The lettuces on the deck are still growing and will probably make it into a salad tonight.

Other plants are looking good, too.

I’m not sure what we’ll do with the rest of the day, but for now, potting a few [...]
