I’ve been working on some more holiday knitting projects over the past few days. One of my friends had a baby this summer and, of course, this new family member didn’t have a Christmas stocking. I padded into the breach and have made three stockings. One for little Olivia:
and one for each of her parents:
Although I used a patterns for these projects (here’s the one I used for the two “adult” stockings) I had to make a few changes and add my own touches as well.
Now I have to get them into the mail in time to hang by the fire for Santa to find.
Liza! These are adorable! I’m looking forward to hearing your knitting story. That is, when did you first pick up needles and yarn? Who taught you to knit? What was your first project? Does your sister (If I remember, you have a sis in the midwest?) knit? And, in turn, who have you taught to knit?
Liza, these are so lovely — is that Manos del Uraguay yarn? I made Meredith’s with all kinds of scraps when she was born, but the main color (red) was from Manos, and it’s held up so beautifully.
Hi Josie, They are actually Lamb’s Pride yarn. Plain but lovely and strong.
Ooooh, they are going to love these! So precious – much like the dear little O! And I love the “snowflakes” that are falling on your page.
Thanks Meg!
Love the white Christmas tree. Everything here is white right now. Freezing cold…below freezing, actually.
Thanks!
Really cold here too — not below freezing, but exceptionally cold for Portland (15 degrees tonight).
