Yesterday, instead of cooking the dinner myself, I had the pleasure of watching (and photographing) as others prepared a wonderful seafood feast.
Venetian black rice served as the elegant foundation for a rich, savory risotto.
Other ingredients included fish (cod and drum),
octopus,
squid, clams and shrimp.
Lots of hands helped with the preparation;
there was a lot of chopping to be done.
In the end it all came together with the help of some champagne
and the use of many pans
into an amazing dish.
The perfect end to a wonderful day.
Looks yummie. The food isn’t too bad looking either. What’s better is I recognize all those truncated hands, handcated trunks, catered trunkhands. In any case, Tally Ho, all hands on deck.
Wish you were here to add your hands to the mix!
[…] Of course, I’ve been cooking too, along with some of my favorite people in the world. Putting a meal together with my family and friends is almost always a shared endeavor. We plan, shop, chop and cook together, wine glasses in hand.While I admit to being a total blog slacker, my sister-in-law L has been so much better at documenting our festivities on her blog – go have a peek. Liza!!! What a great read. I must compliment you on the photography too. I miss those wonderful meals together.
