I am a knitter,
home baker (see 101 cookbooks for the recipe for the Breton Buckwheat Cake in this picture),
and professor of education.
I live in Portland, OR with my husband, S,
and our cat, Esther (known affectionately, and always, as Pester),
in a house filled with cookbooks,
pots and pans,
and other cooking implements.
I collect thermoses,
buttons,
knitting needles,
and yarn.
How was the buckwheat cake? I saw it on 101 cookbooks.
Love your collections. And I thought I had a lot of cookbooks!
It was great! And it turned out just like the pictures on the 101 Cookbooks blog, too!
[…] About Liza […]
Liza,
You never cease to amaze me. Thermos’s and your deck garden looks great. My gardens are the most dismal ever. I am also embarrassed by their lack of productivity. The rain and cold have prevented the soil from warming up enough to grow.
hey there…so did you guys live in portland OR? or did you temporarily live there? you clearly are back in maine, just for summer?
love this page!
We live in Portland, OR now! I am just in NH/ME for a week.
I can’t help thinking that the plural of thermos ought to be thermii. I am known to some as Pestyn đŸ˜‰
I wonder about that myself (the plural of thermos, that is).
Liza,
I’m so glad to reconnect with you! I want you to check out my friend Tanya Zumach’s site: http://www.tanyaspantry.com
She is an auteur, like yourself, and I think you two would like each others work. I have known TZ for about 24 yrs.
Keep doing what you’re doing!
You and I have much in common. I had to giggle when I saw your collection of Thermoses. Don’t you just love your Kitchen Aid Mixer? It feels almost “unnatural” to be as fond of mine as I am. I just learned how to make bread with it and love the fact that I don’t have to knead the dough myself.
I will be adding your blog to my blog roll.
Take Care,
Shannon
